| Dorothy Miller Our War When a new bride's husband is called up to active duty in the navy,it is the most terrible day in her life.
It was an exciting, vibrant and very sad period and the worst war. The nation though was fully united and patriotism ran high.I was twenty years old when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. I am now eighty-six, and those of us who lived through those challenging years are fast dying off. Soon there will be no one left who can personally recall the forties and what life was like during "Our War." I have decided to try to keep those years alive from the viewpoint of sheltered schoolgirl who became a Navy wife with a husband on "the Destroyer the Sullivans." This is my story of World War II. How Mr. Foxy Fox Was Outfoxed This Children’s story is Mrs. Miller’s second book. Her first literary venture was entitled "My War" and dealt with the Author’s life during World War II. She has now completed a whimsical tale of a mouse and rabbit who outfox a wily fox. Mrs. Miller lives in Stuart, Florida.Donald Bell-Illustrator The Author states that she and Donnie's Grandmother grew up together in Cincinnati and now live near each other in Florida. Donnie spent the summer of 2008 with his Grandparents; and knowing he was very talented in art, Mrs. Miller asked him to draw a rabbit and mouse. She was so delighted she asked him to illustrate this book. He was just 16 years old.
