Virginia Nygard
Influenced by parents who read to her from fairytales, The Book of Knowledge and newspaper cartoons, Virginia R.T. Nygard developed an appreciation of the unknown and the known, a sense of humor and the beginnings of a lifelong love of reading and writing. Her first publication was a collection of illustrated stories created in second grade at Island Brook School in Bridgeport, Connecticut. From that early experience, she contributed to high school and college yearbooks as she moved on to her goal of becoming a teacher. The creative writing urge was directed into her career for the benefit of her students who performed in plays she wrote and discovered their own literary abilities.
Moving to Florida with her husband, Walter, in 1988, Virginia slipped sideways into a related field, becoming an Associate Librarian at the City of West Palm Beach Public Library. Here she created press releases and programs for children from toddlers through grade school.Virginia has published poems and letters in several newspapers and creative activities in Early Years magazine and The Good Apple educational newspaper. Her poetry appears in A Concise Treasury of Arkansas, Maryland, and Connecticut Poets and Their Poems published by The National Society of Published Poets. She has written online book reviews for Amazon. Déjà Vu Dream is her first novel and she is currently working on the sequel: Beyond Déjà Vu as well a collection of short stories. |
